Herbert W. Keuchel , 85, passed away December 29, 2017. Herb was born in Germany and spent the majority of his life in Northeast Ohio.
He was a proud graduate from The University of Pennsylvania in chemical engineering and an entrepreneur. Herb enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and had a passion for sailing. Among Herb's many positive attributes, his intelligence and determination are undoubtedly what many will remember.
Preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Frieda; and beloved daughter, Ilona (husband Guenter); Herbert is survived by his wife, Edda, of 58 years; brother, Victor (wife Elfi); daughter, Ingrid (husband Michael); son, Ken (wife Haleh); and daughter, Kristen (husband Gunnar); and ten grandchildren.
Friends are invited to the Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main St.) 552 N. Main St., Akron for calling hours on Friday, January 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 13, at 1 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 158 North Ave., Tallmadge. Visitation with the family will also take place one hour prior to the start of the funeral from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
