Robert Gerald Foster

Robert Gerald Foster passed away on November 23, 2023 surrounded by his family. Born on March 8, 1931 in East Liverpool, Ohio to Lillian and Robert Foster, Robert served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, returning home to settle in Canton, Ohio. He was married for over 39 years to Barbara Massoud Parker Foster. Robert retired from LTV Steel in Canton in 1986. Following retirement, he lived in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio where Robert leaves many friends and neighbors. Active as a Deacon for many years at Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Catholic Church, Robert practiced his catholic faith every day. 

In addition to his wife, Robert leaves his children Paula (Mike) Anderson of Wellsville, Ohio, Kimberly Mann of Canton, Ohio, Scott Foster of Canton, Ohio, Krista (Mark) Weber of Cincinnati, Ohio, and his stepdaughter Barbara Parker (Mike) Casey of Southport, North Carolina. Preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Robert Foster and his sister, Marjorie Fickes, he also leaves behind his grandchildren Michael (Melissa) Anderson, Christopher (Erin) Anderson, Kelly (Amanda) Mann, Stacy (Dale) Brown, Kyle (Megan) Mann, Claire Casey, Ryan Casey, Cobi Weber and Lexi Weber, nine great grandchildren and numerous brothers and sisters in-law and nieces and nephews who were very special to Robert. 

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at Our Lady of the Cedars Church, 507 South Cleveland-Massillon Road, Fairlawn, Ohio on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, with a viewing at 10:00 am followed by a Christian mass of burial at 12:00 noon. Internment will occur at a later date.

At Robert’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of the Cedars Church in Robert’s name.
