Rosemarie A. (Mezzano) Gullo

Rosemarie A. (Mezzano) Gullo, 67, died peacefully surrounded by her girls, on November 20, 2022 after a hard fought battle with cancer.  She was preceded in death by parents, Anthony and Mary Mezzano and sister, Carmelina Grace Mezzano.  She is survived by her daughters, Angela Gullo and Kristen (favorite son-in- law Peter) Foradas; grandchildren, JP and Pia Foradas; grandpups, Nala and Luca; sisters, Toni Tell and Barbara Simons; brother, Vincent (Janet) Mezzano.

Rose was born on August 27, 1955 in Akron, Ohio where she was a preschool teacher at Our Lady of the Elms for 30+ years. She attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish and was a Eucharistic Minister for many years. Rose was involved in many groups and clubs in the Akron area including Le Radici, the Italian Center, Altrusa International and The University of Akron Delta Gamma Alumni Chapter.  She enjoyed helping to plan Festa Italiana in Cuyahoga Falls and volunteering on Thursday nights at the Italian Center’s spaghetti dinners. She often attended sporting events of past students that she taught at the Elms and would follow along with their achievements with great pride. Rose lived for her daughters and grandchildren and had recently moved to Columbus, Ohio to be close to them.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1905 Portage Trail Cuyahoga Falls, OH.  Burial will be at Northlawn Cemetery.  Friends will be received from 4 to 7 pm Friday at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main) 552 N. Main St. Akron, OH.
