Margaret J. Deemer

Margaret J. Deemer, 84, passed away November 20, 2023 after a long struggle with dementia.  

Peg was born on June 22, 1939, to Robert and Virginia Young.  She graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1957.  Following graduation she began a long career at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.  After retiring from Goodyear, she volunteered at Akron Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House.  

Peg enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a hard worker and an excellent cook, but most of all, she was a thoughtful and caring mother and grandma.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Deemer; parents, Bob and Ginny (Sackett) Young; and brother, Robert S. Young.  She is survived by her children Brian (Wendy) Deemer, Aaron (Annie) Deemer, and Julie (Joe) Kirkbaumer; grandchildren; Justin Deemer, Sam and Rachel Kirkbaumer, and Luke and Jack Deemer; sister Ruthanne (Perry) Fry, sister-in-law Renita Young and many nieces and nephews.

Per Peg’s wishes, a private burial service will be held at Tallmadge Cemetery at a later date.  Memorial contributions, in memory of Peg, can be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities Northeast Ohio, RMHC Northeast Ohio, 10415 Euclid Ave. Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
