Terrance Patrick Hennessy

A much loved man left this Earth on Wednesday August 3, 2022. Terrance Patrick Hennessy, a true Irishman, was born on St. Patrick’s Day in 1933. He was born in Bellevue, Ohio, and moved to Akron when he was a young child. Terry graduated from North High School and the University of Akron. He spent his career as the owner and operator of Hennessy-Bagnoli Funeral Homes. During the Korean War, he proudly served in the 3rd Armored Division. He was a Third Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, as well as a member of the Hibernians. He served as Chairman of the Board of North Akron Savings and Loan. Terry was a charter member of Silver Lake Country Club where he made many memories and great friends. He was also a member of the Akron Gyro Club. He met the love of his life Pat, and was then graced with five loving children, Susan Lawrentz, Amy (John) Donovan, Julie Winebrenner, Terry (Lisa) Hennessy and Colleen (Dave) Vincent. He was so proud of his 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Terry is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister and two grandchildren. Terry’s true legacy lies within the stories he told, the lessons he shared and the laughter he imparted on anyone that was in his presence. He lived by his mantra, “treat people the way you want to be treated.” And so we shall!

Visitation will be held at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main), 552 North Main Street, Akron, OH 44310 on Sunday, August 7th from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Church on Monday, August 8th at 12 pm, 3179 Kent Road, Stow, OH.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 100 E Waterloo Road, Akron, OH.
