Richard Lott Obituary

Richard A Lott, 94, passed away peacefully after a short battle of cancer. On May 5th just after midnight he closed his eyes and said goodnight to the world. Born in Akron, he lived a long fulfilled adventurous life. He graduated from West High School and enlisted in the Navy and then spent 29 years in the Coast Guard Reserves. He was a devoted member and commander at the PLAV Post 32. He worked as an electrician at Goodyear Aerospace/Aircraft for 38 years. He also worked as an Auxiliary policeman for Springfield and Cuyahoga Falls. He enjoyed his friends at the Goodyear Boating & Camping club and also loved going to the PLAV with all the friends and members for many years.

He was preceded in death by his son, Rick Lott; wives, Carol Lott and Lois Lott;  He is survived by his son Lenny (Wendy) Lott; daughters, Carol and Annette Lott; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves behind special friends, Ron & Nancy Nash, Chris & Dennis Schaffer, Vinny Cervelino, Denise & Ron Wilhelm & loving friend Mary Ann Saunders.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday  May 13, 2023 from 3:00-6:00 pm at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main) 552 N. Main St. Akron OH 44310.  There will be a celebration of life at the PLAV following.  He will be buried, at a later date, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to PLAV Post 32, 383 Dayton St. Akron, OH 44310.
