Maria N. Rossi, 89, passed away on the Feast of Saint Anthony (her Patron Saint) Sunday, June 13, 2021.
         Maria was born to Elvira and Enrico Fabrizio on May the 5th, 1932 in Castiliogne, Italy. Maria emigrated Italy in 1957 to join her husband Ugo in Akron, Ohio, where he had previously immigrated, to start a new life in America. She was a member of Saint Anthony Church since arriving. She was an accomplished seamstress and worked for Montgomery Ward until their closure and then at Fussy Cleaners until her retirement. Mary was a long time member of the Womens Carovillese Society, where for many years, she enjoyed serving pasta on Tuesdays. She treasured her evenings playing bingo with friends and never passed a chance to brag about her grandchildren, whom she adored and enjoyed making homemade pasta, cavetelli and lasagna for.
         Maria was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ugo (Silverio) and her beloved son Tony. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elvira and Stephan Armocida; granddaughters, Stephanie and Angela Armocida, Christina Rossi and husband Johnny Keith; brother and sister-in-law, Domenico and Vittoria Fabrizio (IT); nieces, Elvira Fabrizio Fusco and Enrica Fabrizio (IT). She will also be deeply missed by her cousins (almost sisters) Antoinette Zamesko, Jackie Heilman and Angie Caruso.
         Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 22nd at Saint Anthony Church, 83 Mosser Pl. Akron. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends and family will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 21st at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main) 552 N. Main St., Akron.
