Music by The Piano Brothers

Anthony "Tony" Joseph Fanizzi, 67, was granted his angel wings on January 9, 2021.  He battled a long illness with heart disease.  Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Christina Fanizzi, and his brother Nicky Fanizzi.  He is survived by his loving wife of twenty three years, Loretta Fanizzi, ex-wife Dianna Fanizzi, sister Rita McInvale, daughters Nikki Fanizzi, Angie Fanizzi (Owen Jones), Christina Fanizzi, Toni Fanizzi, Raelynn Bandurka, and son Paul Samartgedes, his grandchildren Mia and Gia Jones, Bianca and Dominick Crosier, and Milani and Carmella Skipper, nephew Gary Smith and niece Stacy Smith, in addition to many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Tony was born on November 5, 1953 in Akron, Ohio and resided on North Hill for many years before moving to Canton, Ohio.   He graduated from North High School.  He was a car salesman for Klaben for many years until his retirement.  After his retirement, he made deliveries for DeVitis Italian Market, which was a pure joy to him.  He felt like family at the Italian Market.

Tony was a member of the MSC Conversanese Italian Club for many years, in addition to the Italian American Professional Businessman's Club.

Tony was an avid sports fan.  He absolutely lived for Cleveland sports.  He enjoyed playing cards with friends.  He loved his gambling trips with his wife to Atlantic City.  He was a devoted and loving family man, who enjoyed Sunday pasta dinners with his family.  Tony had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back.  He was very generous in every way.  He will be forever missed by family and many friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am Friday at Blessed Trinity Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave. Akron.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Friends will be received from 4 to 7 pm Thursday at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main) 552 N. Main St. Akron.
