Breaks my heart to see Joe's obit. I've grown up thinking we'd live forever. It's hard to talk about growing up without him in almost every story. We were little brats but Joe's huge smile seemed to keep us out of trouble far more than getting us into it - except with girls. The Nuns at CtK broke more rulers, pointers and wooden spoons on us than a single missionary could make in a lifetime and all we could do was laugh. All my love to The Family. You've all had a special place in my heart thru the years and I love when I see The Face of an Ake. The Love, Strength & Warmth of your family has always been incredible. It & God's Love will sustain you thru this difficult time. Peace & Love, Billy

Terry and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. This year has been hard enough and to have it end this way is disheartening. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you through this time. -Kristen and Tyler

To my family,

Words can’t express how sorry I am for the loss of Uncle Joe. He was taken from this world far too early. He was so blessed to have you all in his life, as am I. I’m terribly sorry I can’t be there in person to celebrate his life and to remember the fond memories we all have of him, but you all are in my heart. I love you all dearly.

To my family,
As we go through this heart breaking time I would like you all to remember the happy memories Joe brought us. When I was younger Uncle Joe took me and my siblings, Andrew, Jacob and Lauren all to dinner and later Chuck E. cheese. He ended up spending like 400 dollars on game tokens and we were only gonna be there for like an hour. By the end we still had a bunch of tokens left over. That’s the kind of man Uncle Joe really was. He was taken far too soon but he still left a great impact on many of us and gave us great memories we will never forget. I love you all.

To my family,
I'm not even sure where to start. Much like Abby's memory, mine of our dear Uncle Joe is very similar. He loved to spoil us rotten when he had the chance. Although, I didn't know him too well during his prime, after the passing of my father at the young age of 50, Joe was always there to help my brother, mom, and I. At the time, we didn't really have much else but each other, and our Aunts and Uncles to look out for us. Joe was the one who taught me how to do burnouts on my dirt bike, how to change the oil on my first car that I paid $150 bucks for, do brakes, shingle a roof, how to build a shed for our bikes when we weren't riding in the winter months, and even cried like a baby when Dale Earnhardt passed away. He was very passionate about the things he believed in, especially his family. My brother Jared and I were having a hard time after dad's death, and my mom got a phone call from the school saying we weren't there. Joe actually told on us, but not because he was a rat. It was because he didn't want his sister(Laurie) to worry about us any longer. And yes, he knew right where we were, safe and sound, and even came to get us for her. Joe loved his family more than words can express, and would even give you the shirt off his back if you needed one. Although, he was all of your brother, and our Uncle Joe, we learned a lot about wins, losses, life, and love from his own experiences. We looked up to him, and listened when he had something to say(most times). No matter how tough he acted, deep down he was a lover, and not a fighter. I'm sorry to all my Aunts and Uncles for their loss, because it's immense. I'm sorry that I cannot be there for you, like you all were there for my brother and I. I love you all very much. Rest in peace "Jose Rebasone!" This one's for you! Chris Stapleton - Broken Halos

Even though it’s been quite some time since I’ve seen Joe I still remember him having an infectious smile and eyes twinkled with mischief. Praying Gods love guides you through this terrible time and you can find peace knowing Joe’s partying with the family in heaven. Much love to you all.
