Music by The Piano Brothers

Bernard Joseph Zendlo (BJ) passed away on January 16, 2016, at the age of 56.

He was born on December 1, 1959, to Bernard and Bridget Zendlo in Akron, Ohio. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1979, and then graduated at the top of his class from the Akron Machine Institute. After working at various machine shops, he was employed by Pneumatic Scale Angelus for over 20 years, where he considered his fellow employees an extended family.

He was a devoted father and a loving son and brother. His family and friends knew him to be gentle, patient and humble. He loved his many dogs over the years and had exceptional "dog whispering" skills.

Bernard was preceded in death by his father, Bernard, in 1973. He is survived by his mother, Bridget Zendlo of Cuyahoga Falls; son, Jason (Rachel Forbes) of Cuyahoga Falls; brother, Peter (Wendy) of Akron; sister, Annemarie (Dr. John) Biondi of Fairlawn; sister, Marilou (Dr. Lawrence) Saltis of Akron; nephews, Michael (Missy) Biondi, Peter (Heather) Biondi, Michael Saltis; and nieces, Olivia Zendlo, Gina (Al) Geldres, Mia, Katarina and Alexis Saltis; as well as many relatives and friends, including Laura and Albert Memmer and the rest of "the gang".

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Western Reserve Hospital (3 West) for the exceptional care he was given during his long hospitalization.

Family and friends may call at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Akron, with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Western Reserve Hospital, 1900 23rd St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.
