Jeanne M. Diotte, 91, was born in Chicago on July 30, 1922, and ended her earthly journey on December 6, 2013. Jeanne lived most of her life in Akron, she was raised on North Hill, and then enjoyed living at Silver Lake Towers for many years. She was a member of St. Martha’s and then Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, and a lay minister to the homebound. She graduated from St. Martha’s grade school and North High School. She retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. after 41 years of service; Goodyear Blue and Gold Club. She was a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Ladies Catholic Benevolent Association; she was a volunteer with St. Edwards Service League for 25 years, and volunteered for the OASIS program at Chapel Hill. Jeanne lived her life single for Christ, and modeled His humility, gentleness, and kindness with exquisite consistency. Her words were always filled with gratitude, and she was always ready to excuse or forgive any indiscretion in those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John L. (Colleen) Diotte. She is survived by her nephew, Lawrence P. (Sue) Diotte; and great-nephew Christopher, of North Carolina; and a family of cousins who all dearly loved their “Aunt Jeanne.” The McGuire, Pelland, and Hagen families will all miss Jeanne and treasure the times they spent together.

Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning, December 10th, the hour before the 11 a.m. funeral Mass at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery; in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Avenue, Akron, OH, 44310.

“In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14: 2-3
