Charles A. Towsley, 88, of Tallmadge, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on September 14, 1925 in Akron.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Towsley and Claudia Cassidy; brothers, Phillip Towsley and David Cassidy he is survived by his loving wife of nearly 67 years, Ann; sons, Denny (Cheryl) of Cuyahoga Falls, Michael (Connie) of Dallas, Wayne of Dallas and Jeff (Rose Luckay) of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Marc (Kerri), Kurt (Debbie Newland), Eric (Katie), Arielle, Ian, and Adam; and great-grandchildren, McKenna and Blaze. Also surviving is his sweet little puppy, Cindy.
Charles was a US Army WWII veteran and retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company after 30 years. He also worked at Roetzel and Andress Law firm for 7 years.
Cremation has taken place. Mass of the Christian Burial on August 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory, 91 North Ave, Tallmadge, Ohio where friends may call one hour prior to the mass time.
Private entombment with military honors will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the VNS Hospice, 3385 Ridgewood Road, Akron, 44333.
