I. Rose Summers (Aunt Rosie), 93, passed away on March 20, 2014 at home, she was born October 20, 1920 and lived her life in Akron, Ohio.

She retired after 37 years as an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service. Aunt Rose enjoyed her life and her family Immensely. She spent many years with her husband, Uncle Joe, traveling all over the world. Acapolco, Greece and Las Vegas (she loved the slots) were some of her favorite destinations. Later in life her travels took her to Florida and Texas with her dear friend, Jack. She was an unforgettable type of person. Always ready to go out and meet new people. She made a lasting impression as she was one of the last true "ladies with class", never leaving the house unless she was in a matching suit, with stockings, lipstick, manicured nails and her eyebrows done. Rose was an avid golfer and a member of Leisure Time Recreation. She met many friends through her years of playing Bingo and volunteering at St. Martha's Bingo Hall in North Hill. She was a member of Blessed Trinity Church (St. Martha's) for over 88 years. Aunt Rose was a true matriarch to her family and reveled in her Italian heritage. She never had children of her own but embraced her nieces and nephews as though they were hers. Her home was the center of family celebrations, an endless array of offerings always on the table. Up until her very last moments on earth she welcomed people to her home and always enjoyed the company. Aunt Rose was a generous energetic spirit and will be missed by everyone she met.

Preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinando and Concetta Buzzelli; her husband, Phillip Joseph Summers; her sister, Ersula D. Boanny; her brothers, Armond, Don and Victor Buzzelli; and niece, Paulette Blitz. Rose is survived by her nieces, Sheila Chitwood and Lana (Steve) Rossi; great nieces, Carla Herbert, Nadine Desimone, Vicki Bauer and Connie (Steve) Tisdale; great nephews, James Chitwood and Jason (Ashley) Chitwood; great-great-nieces, Sabrina Fate and Casey Tisdale; great-great-nephews, Sgt. Joseph C. Herbert, Christopher J and Nicholas R. Herbert, Kyle Tisdale, Jake, Nate, Luke Bauer, and Vince Desimone; and great-great-great-nephew, Logan D. Herbert. Special thanks to Carl Chitwood and Jerry Blitz for their thoughts and help with our Aunt Rose. The family would also like to thank Grace Hospice and Visiting Physicians for their wonderful care for our Aunt, special thanks to her devoted care giver Connie Campriani and her family, our Aunt Rose wishes of living her remaining life at home was fulfilled.
